A little more about Ken Remmert

Ken has been a professional actor and musician in the Kansas City area for over 40 years. He is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and American Federation of Musicians. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri he moved to Kansas City to attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Conservatory of Music. There he earned his Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance. In 1998 he began studying acting and theater under Richard Alan Nichols at the Actorscraft Studio in Kansas City. In 2016 Ken portrayed Harry S Truman in the production of “Harry and Walter; Missouri’s Native Sons”, at Missouri Western State University in cooperation with the Walter Cronkite Museum. That production began his crusade to learn more about this humble man and his example as a statesman. Since then Ken has developed, “A Tribute to Truman”. This program shares Harry Trumans’ life; from his humble beginnings to the White House and back to Independence, Missouri, where it all began. Ken has been fortunate to share his “Tribute” to community groups and service organizations and he’s always looking for more opportunities to keep the legacy of our 33rd President alive. Recently he was invited to attend the White House Historical Associations Presidential Sites Summit, in Dallas, Texas. There he shared the stage with Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt. Ken has appeared at many of the major theaters in Kansas City including Starlight Theater, The American Heartland Theater, The New Theater Restaurant, Quality Hill Playhouse, Music Theater Heritage and The Chestnut Fine Arts Center. He has also appeared at The Baliwick Theater in Chicago and Lincoln Center in New York City. Some of his favorite productions include; Annie, Footloose, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Complete Works of Shakespeare..abridged, South Pacific, Guys and Dolls, Gift of the Magi, 1940’s Radio Hour, A Christmas Story, The Nerd, Leaving Iowa, Sanders Family Christmas and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Ken is married to his lovely wife, Lenora. Their family includes their son, Nathan, and daughter-in-law, Ashley and brand new grand-daughter, Madeline.
